Finally finished one of the projects I have been working on.
Just need a better photo of the towels and potholders I made to go with this adorable apron. And to pop them in the mail….
…to this beautiful bride!
The bride is the daughter of some wonderful friends and former neighbors and the bridesmaid is mine.
The apron pattern is called the sassy little apron (find it here) and the brides mother is modeling it for me. We just had a great weekend at the beach together!
I embroidered the brides new monogram on two of the towels and added some rickrack and fabric to the other towel. I don’t know the name of the vintage apron fabric but I love it! The potholders were experiments in straight line quilting and I liked how they turned out but that I think that it would take too long in a big quilt. I believe these will look quite nice with the red kitchen aid mixer we also gave her and her new husband. She can cook up a storm now!
Hope y’all had a great weekend…I know I did. The beach, old friends,a glass of wine, a few laughs, life is good. God is good!
Have a great week!
It’s a new thing for me to be at the beach alone. We have always come as a family…but the family is spread out right now. Thank goodness for the Internet …it’s so easy to keep up with my husband in Singapore, my girls in Auburn (War Eagle!) and my son at home in Mobile. So even though I am enjoying this sunrise alone with my coffee, which is my best friend at this time of the morning, I am still able to share this with them wherever they are.
Up with the sun and out to the beach early. If you had told me before I moved here that Alabama has a beautiful beach I would not have believed it! Seeing is believing.
The weather is perfect.. The gulf is that perfect green emerald color and the sand is white as sugar.
The sun is hot but the evenings are cool. After a day in the sun….there is a beautuful sunset to look forward to…
And then I can work on my little projects I brought with me. Since we will be living soon in Singapore I have been making some pillows and wall hangings from some of Sweetwater’s Reunion line from Moda.
I bought 3 charm packs and have used all of them! I used most of them in this wall hanging..
Then I made a pillow top…
And some more…
I need to get these finished in the next few weeks cause in less than a month we are all going back to Singapore with my husband after girl #1 graduates from college…is that even possible ..doesn’t seem like she has been off to school long enough! The apartment needs to look a little more homey than it does right now… 4 white walls with a sofa and a chair. One table stuck against a wall. When you talk to him there is an echo. So…. “Decorating in Singapore” will be coming soon. But for now…
One last walk on the beach.
